Portrait & landscape artist
‘Over the last 20 years, my paintings have transitioned from abstract to figurative in appearance and structure.’
This shift in my painting process occurred largely because of a shocking bereavement in my life, which impacted profoundly on my work as well. After the death of my brother, my emotions ran into a downward spiral and it took me some months to recover enough to be creative again. Andrew Ramroop, a Bespoke Savile Row Tailor, invited me to create artworks inspired by his tailoring profession. I did so by making screen printed images of his work directly onto suit lining fabrics, limited Edition Screen prints and by drawing and mono-printing views made in his cutting room. An Exhibition of my work was held in his Savile Row shop and was very successful. This project ultimately helped me out of my grief and into a different direction in my work; I am very grateful to Andrew Ramroop, for giving me that opportunity. Continue reading “About”
